Sascha, thank you for sharing your vulnerable side in this piece. It's such a bittersweet act letting go of a passion project and I can imagine it was not easy for you.
It actually came quite naturally. I was expecting it to just be a hiatus but then I never found myself going back to it. I missed it at times, but I know that dropping it was the right thing to do.
I can completely relate because the same sort of thing happened with my 10-year-old travel blog. It just sort of fizzled out naturally as well. I also miss it but know that it is now just an incredible part of my past.
Yes exactly, just because something ended doesn’t mean it “didn’t work”. It did work while it lasted, and then it came to an end. Most things do. We still have the experience and the memories from it :)
Thank you for the article. I empathise with your circumstances. Please read my book, Growl, which is about my life's work in animal rights. I used to edit the nonprofit magazine, The Animals' Agenda, in the United States. But, sadly, it had to cease publication because of the economic impact of the 9/11 tourist attacks, the general economic decline, and the advent of the Internet making it possible for anyone to publish similar content to that which I published in The Animals' Agenda.
Very interesting. We are led to believe that success is only monetary or if we have something long-lasting to show for our efforts. But, I've learned and grown as a person from so many endeavors that were just mine to have- that were never meant to be forever or to make me rich and famous. Also, who knows what the future holds?

Sounds very interesting, will definitely give it a read. So sad that sometimes finances have to put an end to deserving projects and ventures.

This! I've learned through the years that not everything in life is necessarily forever. Things can be amazing even if they are temporary.
