This is so interesting, and so amazing you can educate the next generation of fashion students in this way! I'm really excited to see better quality sustainable plant leathers be developed and become mainstream - can definitely relate to all the flashbacks of flaking vegan pleather, the struggle has been real. Better options are long overdue

Thanks so much! Yes, I'm so happy to see plant leathers take up space in fashion. Definitely much needed.

Hey Sascha, this is awesome. I'd love to hear one of your talks, and I'd also love to hear more about how you actually pitch to institutions to get them to let you speak! Keep up the righteous work.

Thank you! I've also given talks at festivals around the UK, mostly vegan ones but also health- and yoga-themed ones (you'd be amazed at how many of them have no idea about veganism or ethical fashion). I just write a pitch email and lay out my background, the kind of work my organisation does, and what the talk would entail. I'm off to another university tomorrow actually, can't wait :)

I'm so impressed that you do these talks! It's so important to educate people. The wool conversation is interesting. Some companies, such as Two-Thirds Barcelona, use recycled wool to make new garments. I think it's a great idea, but I'm sticking to my organic cotton sweaters for now.

Thanks so much! It's a part of my job that really lights me up. Using only recycled materials is a step in the right direction, absolutely. But I cannot bear to wear animal-derived fibres after what I've seen, so I'll stick to cotton too.
