So sad. Great wisdom though. Losing someone is always tough, but all we can do is remember them and remind ourselves to be grateful and aware that time is fleeting.

Exactly. Life is in the moments and everything is finite, even if that’s hard to accept sometimes.

Such a beautiful piece - how lucky that cat and his family are to have you! Sending you good thoughts. So sorry for your loss.

Thank you. He was a very beloved cat! I thought of this several times during his life, that he had lots of people who loved him. Not all animals are this lucky.

I’m so sorry for your loss - the loss of animal companions (whoever they are owned by) is always so hard because their presence is such a blessing. This was a beautiful tribute ❤️

Thank you. I was surprised by how hard it hit me, despite him not being my cat. But also the joy he brought - I wasn't expecting that either. You take the good with the bad, I guess.

I am so sorry. My two cats, brothers, died recently. 39 days apart. I'm still heartbroken. And what struck me was how many of their cat-aunt-uncle over their 16 years also grieved with me. So this piece resonates. My condolences to you and your friend

Wow that sounds so devastating, I'm so sorry. They leave such a gaping hole. Like my friend said, that's the price we pay for knowing them and loving them.
